美國賓州參議院通過了更新電梯安全法案的提議

　　據賓夕法尼亞州參議院共和黨人報道，賓夕法尼亞州參議院已經通過了提高賓夕法尼亞州電梯安全標準的立法，該法案的發起人是參議員麗莎-貝克（Lisa Baker，R-20）。2016 年，一名管教人員在與一名囚犯發生口角時，兩人撞上了有故障的電梯門并跌落電梯井，最終不幸身亡。對此，2018 年第 68 號法案出臺了相關政策，成立了電梯安全委員會，以解決與電梯安裝、維保和檢驗有關的關鍵問題。賓夕法尼亞州的電梯法規自 2002 年以來一直處于過時狀態，而國家法規自那時起已修訂了七次。電梯安全委員會于 2020 年底向勞動和工業部提交了更新該法規的建議。參議院第 1230 號法案要求勞動和工業部通過更新的安全法規，并于 2025 年 7 月 1 日生效。在通過之前，電梯安全委員會可提出修改建議。

Bill Improving Elevator Safety Passes Pennsylvania Senate

　　The Pennsylvania Senate has passed legislation to improve elevator safety standards in Pennsylvania, according to the bill’s sponsor Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20), PA Senate Republicans reports. In 2016, a correctional officer died during an altercation with an inmate where the pair hit a faulty elevator door and fell down an elevator shaft. In response, measures were introduced through Act 68 of 2018, which established the Elevator Safety Board to address critical issues surrounding elevator construction, maintenance and inspection. Pennsylvania’s elevator code has remained outdated since 2002 with the national code having been revised seven times since then. The Elevator Safety Board submitted recommendations to the Department of Labor and Industry in late 2020 to update the code. Senate Bill 1230 requires the Department of Labor and Industry to adopt an updated safety code, effective July 1, 2025. Prior to adoption, the Elevator Safety Board may recommend modifications.
