ELEVATOR SHAFT FALL RESULTS IN SERIOUS INJURIES IN BOSTON
A man was seriously injured on November 14 as a result of falling down the shaft of a freight elevator in Norwood, part of the greater Boston area, The Boston Globe is among outlets to reports. Serving a commercial building, the elevator apparently malfunctioned, according to the Norwood Fire Department. The man fell approximately 15 ft from the first floor into the basement of the building at 61 Endicott Street. Firefighters used ladders to reach the man, who was transported by helicopter to a Boston hospital. It is unclear if the man was a worker or a tenant of the turn-of-the-century mill building, which is being modernized. An investigation is expected.
